Dave is originally from Cork in Ireland. He holds an Honours Degree in Physiotherapy from the University of Huddersfield and is also an accredited strength and conditioning coach. In 2005 he was appointed Head Strength and Conditioning coach for the University of Huddersfield Gaelic Football and Hurling Club. During this time, the club had its best ever period and reached the All Britain National Final held in London in 2008.

In June 2008 he became Leeds Rhinos Physiotherapist and works alongside current England Rugby League Physiotherapist Meirion Jones, previously working as a ‘Rehabilitation Specialist’ with Leeds Carnegie Rugby Union Football Club.

Dave is one of a handful of certified Functional Movement Screen Specialists in the UK and also certified with the International Youth Conditioning Association.

Dave is a certified Active Release Technique and FAKTR-PM practitioner. These are two advanced Soft Tissue Release techniques that can break up scar tissue, allow muscles to slide independently of each other and release trapped nerves.

Dave has also conducted consultancy work with a wide range of other professional sports including rowing, hurling, gaelic football and athletics.
